Forgive my absence yesterday….I was stilling recouping from a long and exhausting weekend which began on Friday organizing baby dedications…up at 6am headed for coffee and antiques aka junk…back home hours later to wrap up more baby dedications…up again at 6am headed for church to love on 19 families who dedicated their children and themselves to raising their children in Jesus Christ…back home with Sweet P’s long time friends from church.
I proceeded to take nap on Sunday…something I rarely do.
And woke myself up with my own drool.
Nice. But I needed that nap.
Now that we got that out of the way….how was Round Top, you ask?
It was great. Great because I found pretty much everything I was looking for…had fun with a friend…ate good food and enjoyed a margarita in the cool Hill Country.
Do I have pictures to show for it? Umm. No.
I only took 3 pictures. I am lame. I don’t know what I was thinking.
So here is picture #1:
The hubcaps were a find. Bubbie is moving to a big boy bed soon…and he gets a new room along with it. I told my husband I wanted hubcaps for the wall. He looks at me like I am crazy.
Then we walked and walked…and found our favorite place. An older gentlemen with his denim overalls, white beard, and straw hat. We buy from him every year. He is precious.
I spy the hubcaps laying in the grass…walk over and he immediately tells me “$5 bucks each and don’t try to talk me down because they are $15 bucks up the street!”
Okay, okay. Geez.
So I start going through them and ask him over to tell me what model car they are from.
He sees one I have picked and says that he shouldn’t sell that one for $5. I say “noooo, you told me not to talk you down!” He laughs and says he sold a set of those for $400.
Score baby, score.
So $20 later, I have 4 1950′s-1970′s hubcaps for Bubbie’s room.
That was pretty much the day…lunch and a margarita, which killed our shopping mojo but I didn’t need anything else.
I’m sure my husband appreciated that.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
