i am ninja.

Not really a ninja…but a Ninja lover. Totally in love. Head over heels. With a Ninja.
Have you seen this piece of work:
I’d never heard of a Ninja before laying my eyes on him in Target. We went to Target to get a Magic Bullet and sitting next to the Bullets were the Ninjas. I was intrigued.
Standing the middle of the isle, my husband and I read reviews, watched videos and googled ‘the Ninja’…thank goodness for modern technology.
We decided on the Ninja and life has never been the same.
We are a smoothie-making machine over here…strawberry banana with spinach and flax snuck in for the kids, spinach-banana-blackberry, and my favorite…the Green Monster.
The Ninja is insane….crushing ice within a few seconds.
If you remember this about my love coffee, you know I loooove my coffee. But it was becoming somewhat of a health issue and my doctor wanted me to stay away from caffeine. I thought she was full.of.it so I keep drinking my beloved Organic Wild Blueberry with French Vanilla creamer.
Unfortunately, my doctor was right…and I made the decision to switch to decaf…cold turkey.
Not pretty, my friends…not pretty.
Now I know what drug users go through during withdraws. It was awful…and I am convinced caffeine in a drug.
After about 2 weeks, I finally felt normal again…but the decaf coffee just didn’t taste the same and I really didn’t want coffee. At all.
So I started reading about juicing…smoothies…and the Green Monster. The health benefits are incredible. So I thought I’d try it.
The Ninja rocks the Green Monster…in less than a minute flat.
Here’s the recipe for 2 Green Monsters:
2 handfuls fresh spinach
2 bananas
1 cup Greek Yogurt (I like Oikos Honey or Vanilla)
1 cup Almond Milk
ice cubes
It is so freshing…and really good. So good, my husband has one every morning…and he is one tough customer to please when it comes to ‘healthy’ stuff.
It’s yummy! Enjoy friends!
And…Ninja has no clue who we are. I just think Ninja rocks…my parents bought one too…and boxed up their Bullet. No offense to the Bullet though.

Love the Ninja!
My Mom is coming to Zihua in June. There are always things I muscle her into bringing me when she comes. All the fun little kitchen gadgets that you can’t buy down here. I am putting the ninja on the list, for sure. It looks like it will be compact and easy to pack, too!
Is there any way you can post a video of making that green monster? Pretty please.
I can do a video for you Nisa…I hope your mom can bring a Ninja to you…it really is amazing!
What was the problem with coffee? If I can be nosey. I’m trying to change my eating habits and eat healthy and coffee is the first meal of the day! If I can get my hands on a bullet/ninja I want to try this smoothy!
You can totally be nosey and I will be completely honest as well. I’ve been experiencing alot of sharp pain in one of my breasts…there I said it…and talked with my doctor about it. She asked if I drank coffee, answered Yes and she encouraged me to stop drinking caffeine coffee because it increases breast pain associated with fibroid cysts (which my family has a history of). I really blew it off…but the pain kept getting worse…so I told myself when I finished my last Keurig cup, I would switch to decaf…then eventually stop drinking coffee all together, expect for once in a while. And…after all the caffeine was out of my system…no more pain. Crazy, I know, but true. Caffeine is definitely addictive and I totally experienced withdraw symptoms that totally took over by body. It took about 2 weeks before I felt better. It was awful and I almost caved but I am glad I stuck to it!
Thanks for the great question! xoxo, Carrie
