Mercury Glass DIY {failure}

18 Nov

So many people, including me and Angie, have pinned this mercury glass knock off.

I’ve tried it. Numerous times.

And to use completely incorrect grammar: it don’t work.

I first tried it on a plain piece of glass which turned out like this:

Then I tried it on a piece of wood which turned out like this:

Then I completely ruined a glass candlestick and I won’t even show you the picture because it is awful and I chunked it before taking a picture.

Friday tip: save your $12 for a bottle of Looking Glass and go buy yourself a movie ticket to Breaking Dawn.

This mercury glass knock off don’t work.

The end.

Love ya friends!

    Awwww, sometimes we all need #fails…. keeps us motivated to keep trying harder? oh wait no? frustrates us and makes us scream weird noises and flare our arms in weird motions??? That’s right..

    did you try it with water? I heard that vinegar kinda works too!?

    Hope all is well!

    You must spray the paint on the inside of the glass. Just mist the inside of the glass with water and then spray the paint. Once it is dry, go back with a sponge or a small brush with vinegar. I have done quite a few that turned out quite nicely using this method.
