It’s ridiculous to love this…

30 Aug

It’s ridiculous to love this…

But I do.

A french tasse.  A little plastic tumbler.  A vintage inspired drinking vessel.

A cup.

From Target.

And it is the most perfect shade of blue I’ve ever seen.

I count them every night to make sure one isn’t lost in the black hole of my daughter’s room.

I wash them by hand, careful not to leave any spots.

I adore them.

It is ridiculous to love tumblers this much.  They were a steal at $1.99 each.  Way less expensive than the glass Pottery Barn tumblers I wrote about months ago.

($36 for 4 from Pottery Barn vs. $16 for 8 from Target = very happy blogger)

I’ve looked for them online to share with all of you…but they are no where to be found.  Maybe ransack your local Target…take one of my pictures and beg someone to find them for you.

I promise, drinking ice cold water out of one of these cups will change your life.

Feel free to send me to therapy for writing about tumblers.  Its the triple digit heat that’s making me crazy.

Cheers, friends!

xoxo,

Carrie

Friday Finds :: Glass Insulators

Who knew glass insulators would make their way into 21st century design?

Dating back to 1840′s, glass insulators were created to carry the current between telegraph lines.

Free History 101…

Now glass insulators can be found in design magazines if you look closely.  They range in color…clear, blue, green, and purple…and in price.

I found my blue glass covers in Round Top a few weeks ago…for $2.

We shopped alittle more and found some for $125.

I think I got the better deal.

And the year before, I bought clear covers for $1.

Ahh…sweet victory.

They’ll make their way in my home in the very near future after they get a warm, bubbly bath.

I am working on a new design for our living room and I think I’ve found the perfect home them.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

And…come by tomorrow…Angie and I are being featured on a fabulous blog…you’ll get a peek into our homes!

Friday Finds :: Wrinkle Cream

Yup, I said wrinkle cream.  Wrinkle Cream.  Wrinkle Cream.

And this is not an April Fool’s joke…

On the recommendation of my dermatologist, I’ve used Neutrogena products for years.  I’ve tried expensive ones…only to wake up to a breakout.  I’ve tried skincare party-type products…and not a fan.

So I’ve stayed faithful to Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleaner for years.  And I exfoliate daily.  And use Neutrogena Healthy Skin moisturized with Alpha Hydroxy and SPF 30.  I love my routine…because it works.

Then I saw Neutrogena’s new Rapid Wrinkle Repair.  $20 for the bottle.

Because I am starting to notice little bitty lines around eyes…

I either need to stick my face in a sink full of ice every morning like Mommy Dearest or give this cream a try.

I bought  the cream.

And so far, I really like it.

No breakouts.  No redness. (it warns of redness)  And I do think the appearance of the lines look a little better.

It does claim you’ll see difference in a week…I couldn’t tell after a week…but I do see a difference.

It was worth the $20…and will last me quite a while.

Just say no to wrinkles!

Happy, happy Friday friends!  I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend!  I’ll be antiquing in Round Top on Saturday…and let you know what I find next week!

And…Neutrogena has no idea who we are.  We just like to share the things we find with our friends.

Friday Finds :: Thank you, Target

I love Target.

And my debit card can prove it.

Their $1 section rocks.  Seriously.

And I love pretty cards but not always the pretty price tag.

So looking for some fun little road trip treats, I found these thank you cards:

And I snatched them up.

I have Sweet P write thank you cards anytime she receives anything…because a hand-written note is timeless and precious in my eyes.

And teaching her now, hopefully she will remember when she is 16….and 21…and 40.

Happy Friday, friends!

Friday Finds :: Aveeno Living Color

Welcome to our new Friday Finds feature!  Where we introduce things we find…things we love…and share with our friends.  Virtual BFF’s!

I was reading through Allure Magazine the other day…and found a color glaze by Aveeno the editors raved about.

I love Allure for two reasons:  they include products real people can afford and they have little sticky tabs for pages you like.  Genius.

So…at Target yesterday…I found the Aveeno Living Color glaze for $6.99.  Pretty bottle, love. Smells great, love.

I highlight my hair about every 12 weeks and really by the 10th week…I need to be sitting in that chrome chair for 3 hours.  But 12 weeks works for me and my pocket book.  I had a chocolate color blended with the blonde at my last visit…and I LOVE IT. Very natural.

But right about now, the blonde is looking alittle dirty so today, I’ll try the color glaze and let you know how it looks via Facebook.  (You are our friend on Facebook, right?)

I hope it works because I have a hot date with two men tonight….my husband and Matt Damon.

And just so you know, this is not a paid review.  Aveeno has no idea who I am.
